Overview

 

UPE5602-RT is a 2-port Power over Ethernet (PoE) Repeater that providing a 10/100Mbps Ethernet transmission for 100 meters distance and extend Ethernet connectivity another 100 meters with Power over Ethernet capability. It forwards both Ethernet and PoE for another 100 meter (330ft) using an innovative power-processing scheme and multiple units can be deployed in series for even longer distance with no degradation in network speed or latency.

 

UPE5602-RT is powered by an Ethernet PoE Switch (or PoE Injector) and requires no separate power connection in the middle of cable, making it extremely easy to connect. A simple application of UPE5602-RT allows to connect two PoE Devices (PDs) located 200m away from the PoE switch. The switch delivers PoE power over the first 100m of Cat. 5 cable to the UPE5602-RT, and restores Ethernet signal and forwards remaining PoE power to the PDs 100m away. It requires no local power supply, and presents no restriction to the Ethernet network connection. With UPE5602-RT, PD may have its own dedicated connection to the switch. The power cable installation to remote switch would not be required.

 

The advantage of PoE function is to provide power and data over existing network cables. It eliminates the need for electricians or extension cords while installing new expanding equipments. Therefore, UPE5602-RT can save space, reduce cables and eliminate the requirement for the dedicated electrical outlets to lower the installation cost. This PoE technology is suitable for small business, school campus, bookstore, coffee shop with internet hot spot, or enterprise network environments.
